One of the most difficult aspects of job chasing is writing a solid CV. Most employers read each CV for a few seconds before putting it in the “Yes” or “No” pile. Here are the top ten CV writing strategies that can help you land that all-important interview.
Stay true to yourself!
A CV should usually be no more than two pages — that’s two pages of A4 paper! Employers spend an average of 8 seconds looking over each CV, and sending them your full life storey is a definite way to end up on the no pile. Keep it short and sweet, and reserve the nitpicky details for the interview.

Always tell the truth.
Isn’t it true that everyone lies on their resume? NO! Stop! When it comes to companies reviewing your background and references, telling outright lies on your CV might get you in a lot of trouble. The last thing you want is to start a new job only to get fired for lying. You may also be taken off guard at the interview stage if you find yourself unable to answer questions about what you profess to know. And that can be really inconvenient!

This may sound tedious, but having numbers to back up your accomplishments makes selling yourself lot easier. When you write your job history, don’t just mention you boosted sales; tell them you increased sales by 70% in six months. Is that clear? Big numbers are particularly beneficial (but don’t forget item 7 on our list!).
Make it appealing.
We live in a world where appearance is important, and your CV is no exception. Take some time to make it look nice. Make use of bullet points and brief sentences.
